Your mission  

As our Mechanical Designer, you’ll design, develop, and refine high-precision mechanical systems that push the boundaries of what’s possible. You’ll play a vital role in creating systems that meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global market by working closely with our external knowledge and system suppliers.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

  • Design and development: Create mechanical designs for modules and systems, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Prototyping and testing: Build prototypes, conduct tests, and refine designs based on results for optimal performance.
  • Problem-solving: Tackle mechanical challenges in existing and new designs, implementing innovative solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal technicians and external experts to integrate and optimize designs seamlessly.
  • Documentation: Develop detailed technical drawings and documentation to ensure a seamless production and assembly.

Your expertise and qualities

We’re looking for a detail-oriented mechanical designer with a passion for high-precision systems:

  • Educational background: BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in designing high-precision mechanical systems, preferably in the high-tech industry.
  • Technical skills:
    • Precision Engineering: Solid understanding of mechanical tolerances, GD&T, and material selection.
    • Expertise in Manufacturability: Strong knowledge of mechanical part manufacturability and mechanical assembly design.
    • 3D CAD Mastery: Proficient in 3D CAD modelling, preferably using NX/TeamCenter.
    • Engineering Methods: Familiarity with methods like DFM/DFA, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving is preferred.
    • Simulation Skills: Experience or interest in thermal/mechanical simulations is a plus.
    • Semiconductor Knowledge: Familiarity with semiconductor equipment and manufacturing processes, including cleanroom-compatible design and particle generation prevention, is highly appreciated.
  • Problem-solving mindset: Ability to address complex mechanical challenges creatively and efficiently.
  • Communication: Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Languages: Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
